Parkland is a music project based around the writing and recordings of Rob Malowany. Primarily a singer/songwriter, immersion in the Vancouver creative music scene inspired Malowany to mix improv and textural exploration into his song structures. In a live setting Parkland exists in many forms, from voice with guitar and piano, to an exploratory full-spectrum band with drums, dobro, cello, piano, and bass, together with an array of noise soundscapes and unique textures.

The group’s lineup is an ever-shifting mix of members of the Vancouver creative, experimental, and roots communities, the current touring line up includes:

Stephen Lyons – drums, noise (Fond of Tigers/Sun Belt)

Robin James Hunter – slide guitar, lap steel

Shanto Acharia – bass (Fond of Tigers/Limbs of the Stars)

Jon Wood - electric guitar (Flophouse Jr., Cam Penner)

Rob Malowany – voice, electric guitar

Gillian Moranz is a song slinging balladeer influenced by the likes of Mary Gauthier, Townes Van Zandt, Gillian Welche, Leonard Cohen, and The Underbelly Report. The wisdom and insight of her songs blend seamlessly with her unique and original sounding voice and her dynamic stories showcase a folk sensibility with an undeniably contemporary twist. Regardless of the context, Moranz always strives to leave her audiences feeling as though they have witnessed something dynamic, compelling, thought-provoking, and profound.
